The AtmoCT Team’s new publication Atmospheric geographies of (counter)terrorism is now available in the scientific journal Progress in Human Geography. The conceptual article argues that thinking atmospherically about the spaces where we encounter terror threat and counterterrorism measures in cities is important for three reasons.  Firstly, to identify and explore feelings and dispositions that are shaped by discourses, policies, and infrastructures of (counter)terrorism. Secondly, to contribute with approaches based on everyday experience to scientific literatures on security and (counter)terrorism in geography and beyond. Thirdly, to connect official understandings of (counter)terrorism with the everyday felt experiences of the public. We highlight two conceptual and practical arenas – the crowd and the question of difference – where atmospheric approaches to urban (counter)terrorism can be developed.
